Chateau to Chauterred !!

So now we have come down a little bit in the world. After a very luxurious night at the Chateau in Meyruis we had to cut the accommodation budget - here is tonights Chaterred lodgings
(nice isn't it - I am sure we will get used to it eventually )

And now for the Bridge of Cahor - The Pont Valentre
It's a 14th Century fortified Valentre bridge crossing the Lot river.

La Fontaine des Chartreux-
Two millennia ago, the Fontaine des Chartreux was used in the worship of Divona, the namesake of Gallo-Roma Cahors.

Followed by a walk around the city:
Donkey cart tourist transport

Wine making the old fashioned way-

And that's it for the day - after enduring ridiculous heat yesterday it rained for the rest of the day.

Foot note : we actually have better accommodation, a very nice room overlooking the Lot River.
